It’s glad to have a beautiful and cosy house. And also, a fully furnished house. From a couch and a television, into bed and the cupboard. Do not forget some lamps for lighting.

If you are coffee lover, I think you have to consider a  Coffee Makers in your home. You can have some cup of coffee easily with simplicity. Toaster Ovens are a good choice if you want to toast some slices of bread your your breakfast before you go to your office.

If you prefer to dine in your own home and cook it yourself, you should considering some Kitchen and Dining furnitures. From Pots and pans to choices of Steamers are available to “accompany” you while you cooking.

Ah! Wine Glasses are not a bad idea if you want to have a drink in your own place. Or, just use it for some juices of smoothies that you have just made with your Blenders.

Olympus E-PL2 camera gets reviewed

posted by Adham Somantrie in January 31st, 2011
in Hardware   Tags: photography

Olympus’s E-PL2 only surfaced on the public radar just last month, and already reviews are rolling in indicating The Schwartz is quite strong with this latest Micro Four Thirds entrant. Interestingly enough, both Photography Blog and Popular Mechanics saw the improved MSC 14 to 42mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens as the most important change to the new rig. That’s because it’s been retooled to be lighter, slimmer, and shorter, adding to the overall compact feel of the camera. A new internal focus is also apparently much faster and nearly silent — making it more appealing for video shooting. Outside of the lens changes, both saw the camera’s new 3-inch, 460,000-dot LCD, faster max shutter speeds, and greater ISO sensitivity as welcomed additions to the solid foundations laid by the E-PL1, resulting in a highly recommended rating from PB. Reviewers at Popular Mechanics also futzed around with the new Bluetooth-enabled photo sharing PENPal accessory and found it great for transferring photos to a phone — but lamented how it blocked the camera’s hot shoe in the process. To dive into all the juicy review details for yourself hit up the source links below.

Pioneer Elite HDTVs to ride again as rebranded Sharp

posted by Adham Somantrie in January 28th, 2011
in Hardware   Tags: hdtv, pinoeer, tv

It was a dark day when Pioneer announced its mighty Kuro HDTVs would be no more, but the Pioneer Elite brand still has significant cachet and will return in 2011 on new high end TVs. The bad news? They will be LCDs, not plasmas, manufactured by its partner Sharp, a not entirely surprising move since this was actually the original plan for the Kuro brand back in 2008. Apparently both see potential as Sharp will gain access to higher-end AV salesrooms and integrators for its products, while Pioneer will have TVs to match its continuing Pioneer Elite Blu-ray player and receiver lines. Despite an impressive local dimming demo at CES we’re still not sure Sharp can create enough new pixels to replace what we once had, but we should find out for sure when the new models arrive the end of the year.

CDMA iPad coming to Verizon, too

posted by Adham Somantrie in January 12th, 2011

It’s not just the iPhone 4 that’s going the way of CDMA. Verizon CFO Francis Shammo has told Bloomberg that the iPad will also be getting similar treatment. Although light on details like price (which we can guess) or release date (which we have no idea, really), Shammo did explicitly say a version that connects directly to Verizon’s network is in the pipeline. We assume he meant the current iPad, which the carrier currently sells as WiFi-only with a MiFi bundle, but hey, anything’s possible.

Nike+ SportWatch Adds GPS, Courtesy Of TomTom

This fun-looking watch is Nike+ footpod and GPS compatible, allowing you to run inside and outside without losing your speed and distance. A built-in USB port in the actual strap allows you to connect to the Nike+ website and see your stats and plan runs.

The watch is manufactured and sold by Tom Tom and Nike and clearly is an effort to push that company in new, more lucrative directions.

Starting April 1st, get the extra push you need with the Nike+ SportWatch GPS powered by TomTom. Not only does it track what you do, it tracks how you do it, then makes you want to do it again and again. Here’s how:

It’s accurate.
The Nike+ SportWatch GPS combines the accuracy of GPS with the shoe-based Nike+ sensor to track time, pace, distance, calories burned, and heart rate. So you have your whole running history in the palm of your hand.

It’s award winning.
The watch just won two CES (Consumer Electronics Show) Innovation Awards in the Health and Wellness and Personal Electronics categories. Which is kind of a big deal considering that CES is the world’s largest consumer tech tradeshow.

It’s motivating.
Onscreen run reminders help get you out the door. You also get props for personal records.

It’s inspiring.
The watch connects to NikePlus.com so you can view completed runs, set new goals, and interact with a community of almost 4 million runners around the world.

Be the first to try it out this spring.

Running with iPod

posted by Adham Somantrie in December 21st, 2010
in Featured, Lifestyle   Tags: iphone, ipod, nikeplus, running

Do you bring and listen to your iPod when running? I love running, and the Nike+ system make it great, and fun. I just want to share some tips for running with the iPod.

Never bring harddisk when running. No, I’m not kidding. Some people do not know if they bring harddisk on their pocket when running. I’m talking about the harddisk inside the iPod. Some iPods contain the mini harddisk. The original iPod (including iPod Photo and iPod Video), iPod Classic, and iPod mini are using harddisk (microdrive in case of iPod mini) instead of silicon chip or flash disk. Harddisks are sensitive to shock. Even you can carry the iPod safely when you go, but running gives more shock to the harddisk.

Listen to the ambient sound. Don’t fully concentrate to the music from the iPod. You need to listen to the sounds around you. You still have to listen to car’s horn when you running on the road. There was a lot of people died on the street due to iPod. You can plug the earphone just in one ear, so the another ear can hear the ambient sounds. Avoid the isolating earphones such as in-ear type when you running. This can isolate the sounds around you.

Use the remote. Touch screens are great, but it is difficult to control your iPod Touch, iPod nano touch, or iPhone without looking at the screen. You can decide for earphone with volume and remote control, to keep your concentration. So you can control your music just with the touch of your hand, without have to look at the screen.

Use armband. Armband are invented to bring your iPod in your workout. And it is better than putting your iPod in your “unsecured” pocket. It also improves the GPS reception quality because your device is exposed. And your Nike+ GPS or miCoach tracking will be more accurate.

Watch out the cable! the cable of your earphone. Keep it safe and make sure it will not stuck at the other things or other people.

Disable Shake to Shuffle. This is an amazing application of accelerometer on iPods. But, even it won’t work when you switch the “hold” on, believe me, you will feel more comfort when you disable Shake to Shuffle feature. Because you will always “shake” your iPod when you running.

— Adham Somantrie.

Mophie Juice Pack Plus iPhone 4

posted by Adham Somantrie in December 5th, 2010
in Hardware   Tags: apple, iphone, Mobile

Many of us on the TUAW staff are big fans of the Mophie juice pack battery packs for iPhone, and now the company has come out with one that packs a lot of capacity into a case that’s only 1 millimeter thicker than the skinny juice pack air.

The juice pack plus for iPhone 4 ($99.95) comes with a whopping 2,000 mAh capacity, which can provide up to 8 hours additional talk time or 7 more hours of internet use on a 3G network, or up to 11 hours more internet use on a Wi-Fi network. That’s 500 mAh more than the juice pack air ($79.95) in virtually the same volume.

Mophie added some other features to the juice pack plus as well. It’s designed as a virtual speaker box that redirects sound from the bottom of the iPhone 4 — where the speakers are — to the front. That’s useful in providing richer sound and helpful during those long conference calls with the iPhone 4 in speakerphone mode.

Mophie seems to be going to the printing world for their choice of colors for the juice pack plus, as it will be CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (black)). The black case is available now; the colors should be available in January according to a Mophie spokesman. We’ll have a full review and giveaway in the near future.
